36W UVC (Ultraviolet) T8 Tube Light, Length: 48", LBDR43, SiTong, China

What is UV technology? Ans: Ultra-Violet (UV) light is invisible to the human eye and is divided into UV-A, UV-B and UV-C.

UV-C is found within 100-280 nm range. Philips UV-C lamps have a peak wavelength at 254 nm which is close to the germicidal susceptibility peak. That’s why our lamps are extremely effective in breaking down the DNA of bacteria, viruses and spores. As a result they cannot multiple or make people ill.

UV (Ultraviolet) Lamp Applications: Lighting BD Limited (LBL) provides several kinds of UV lamps such as UV-A lamp, UV-B lamp and UV-C lamp for each range of the wavelength.

Our lamps are utilized in several purposes in the Bangladeshi market.

UV-A Applications; UV-A lamps have 315-400nm wavelength ultraviolet light and are used for wide variety of curing of polymers and inks.

The lamps are also used for electric insect killer and several kinds of fluorescence detection and attractions.

UV-B Applications; UV-B lamps have 280-315nm wavelength ultraviolet light and are used for wide variety of curing of polymers and inks.

The lamps are also used for several kinds of medical equipment.

UV-C Applications; UV-C lamps have mainly 254nm wavelength ultraviolet light. From its strong sterilizing ability, the lamps are used for wide variety of purification for air, water and surface of foods.

The challenge: The quality of the air we breathe, the water we drink and the cleanness of surfaces all have a profound effect on our health and well-being. We’re all at risk of contracting or spreading viruses and bacteria, but none more so than vulnerable patients who are being cared for in hospital and healthcare settings. Because any form of viral infection can complicate their recovery. And while our UV-C lamps don't treat people directly, they can make a difference by helping to neutralize any viruses and bacteria that might present a danger.

UV-C radiation is a known disinfectant for air, water and surfaces that can help mitigate the risk of acquiring an infection and has been used extensively for more than 40 years. All bacteria and viruses tested to date (many hundreds over the years, including various coronaviruses) respond to UV-C disinfection. There are no known pathogens resistant to UV-C. A clear indication that UV-C light can play a valuable part in your protection strategy.

Ultraviolet germicidal irradiation: Ultraviolet germicidal irradiation (UVGI) is a disinfection method that uses short-wavelength ultraviolet (ultraviolet C or UVC) light to kill or inactivate microorganisms by destroying nucleic acids and disrupting their DNA, leaving them unable to perform vital cellular functions. UVGI is used in a variety of applications, such as food, air, and water purification.

UVC light is weak at the Earth's surface since the ozone layer of the atmosphere blocks it. UVGI devices can produce strong enough UVC light in circulating air or water systems to make them inhospitable environments to microorganisms such as bacteria, viruses, molds, and other pathogens. UVGI can be coupled with a filtration system to sanitize air and water.

The application of UVGI to disinfection has been an accepted practice since the mid-20th century. It has been used primarily in medical sanitation and sterile work facilities. Increasingly, it has been employed to sterilize drinking and wastewater since the holding facilities are enclosed and can be circulated to ensure a higher exposure to the UV. In recent years, UVGI has found renewed application in air purifiers.
